Looking up
Today I went out to my local area and took some pictures of the tall buildings with my phone
Composition
So today I went around the school and took the pictures that were demonstrated on the piece of paper with my classmate.
www: I made an accurate representation of each drawing.
ebi : I took a grid picture on something that doesn't reflect me.

Andy Yeung
Andy Yeung is an award winning Hong Kong artist who took pictures of reflection and made interesting pictures out of them.
My Response
I went onto photoshop and used file>new and made it two pictures. Then I copied the pictures and pasted it where it would reflect and repeat the same thing over and over until I got four versions of each picture. Then I changed the hue and saturation a bit to make the pictures have more colour. One of the pictures I looked up and the other was from my looking up homework. www :I successfully made a reflection picture. ebi : Change the size of the picture so they are the same size. |
John Divola
John Divola is an American artist who made pictures of framed rooms. This is where he would take a picture from afar of a room and then take a close up picture of one of the objects in the room with a frame.
My response
So today I went out into the playground with my classmate and we took framed pictures to recreate John Divolas art.
www: The frame was in the right place.
Ebi: Some close up photos do not have a widespread photo.

Romain Jacquet-lagrèze- Wild concrete
My response
My Best Pictures
Today I went around the school and took pictures where nature overlaps concrete to make it similar to what romain jacquet-lagrèze did
www: I successfully took the pictures to resemble wild concrete.
ebi: I should have positioned my camera better so it wouldn't be blurred.

Sun Ji- Layered Landscape
Sun Ji, a 29 years old Shanghai-born artist whose photo collages convey a view of the city’s past and present. They made these pictures called layered landscape.
Layered landscape on paper
This was my version of the layered landscape on paper.
Final piece-mirroring
Here I am going to go around London and take pictures of buildings to reflect them.
Michael Shainblum
Michael Shainblum is a photographer who created original pictures that specialised in milky way, landscape and time lapse astrophotography. Pieces from his other work is mirroring, where he would take pictures of buildings, and mirror them. I will be going out into my local area to take pictures of the buildings and mirror them to give off the same effect.
Here I took pictures of my neighbourhood and reflected it.

My first response using my layered landscape picture
Sebastian Magnani-Reflection
Here is Sebastian Magnani's work. He is a photographer in Switzerland who is known for his intimate photographs meant to create emotional scenes.
My response
So I went outside around my school with a mirror and put it on the floor next to trees and or bushes to capture a nature on concrete effect, sort of like wild concrete.
www:the pictures captured a good example of reflection.
ebi: some pictures were a bit blurry.

The pictures I edited
Romain Jacquet-Lagreze- Wild Concrete
One of Romain Jacquet-Lagreze's series is Wild Concrete. A concept captured when nature such as vines, creep over concrete. This relates to what I am working on as it is mainly environment and relates to the mirroring.
My Response
So these pictures were taken on my road for an effect where nature meets concrete. I think this links well to the mirroring
My favourite one edited
This is my favourite picture because I like the contrast between the concrete and the nature dominating it through the vines. I made it so concrete was discoloured and the nature is brought out more.
Horst P.Horst- Patterns in nature(final piece)
With all the developments I have done, I decided to develop it further by using both reflections and nature. The artist that I took inspiration from is Horst P.Horst, a German-American fashion photographer. These are some pieces of his work.
My response:
First I'm taking these pictures of nature in my garden, then I am going to reflect them.
Pictures edited.
Here I have created a piece inspired by Horst P.Horst, where I combined the reflections I did in my developments, and the nature I did. I really like the contrast between the two.
Artist and me
Horst P.Horst work |
My work |
For this artists work He did a combination of nature and reflections which in turn made the development look really satisfying to the viewer.
|
For my work I took inspiration from the artists work and took pictures of flowers from my garden. I like how the nature contrasts with the wooden shed behind it making the mirroring look more beautiful.
|
In conclusion what went well in environments was my connections to the artists and use of photoshop. What I wish I could have done better would be how I gave descriptions of my work and the artists work.
More of Horst. P
First Response.
For this I used the mirroring feature and changed colours of the pepper.
